ROOF CLEANING IN HULL
Moss and algae do more than look untidy. Left on the tiles they hold moisture against the roof, and that's what causes the real damage over time. We strip it all off properly, then finish every job with a biocide treatment to slow down what comes back.
What's Included In A Roof Clean
- Full moss, algae and lichen removal from every tile, not just the visible ones from the ground
- Ridge tiles and valleys checked and cleared, where debris builds up first
- A biocide treatment applied after the clean to slow down regrowth
- Gutters checked while we're up there, since blocked gutters and mossy roofs usually go together
- Ground-level or roof-safe access, whichever the property and the job actually need

Why Roof Moss Is Worth Sorting
Moss holds water against the tiles long after the rain's stopped. In cold weather that trapped moisture freezes and expands, and that's what cracks tiles over years rather than months. A mossy roof also stops water shedding properly, small gaps that should let rain run straight off instead let it back up underneath. It's rarely urgent in the way a leak is, but left alone for a few winters it stops being a cosmetic job and starts being a repair bill.

Roof Cleaning FAQs
It should be, when it's done properly. We match the method to the roof, softer washing for older or more fragile tiles, and we always take a proper look before quoting rather than turning up and guessing.
The biocide treatment we apply after every clean is there specifically to slow regrowth down. Nothing stops moss coming back forever in a climate like ours, but a treated roof stays clean noticeably longer than an untreated one.
We clean most residential roof types across Hull and East Yorkshire. If yours is an unusual material or a listed building, mention it when you call and we'll tell you honestly whether it's one for us.
It depends on the size of the roof and how bad the moss is, so we don't quote blind over the phone. Call 07367 084826 and we'll get you a free, no-obligation price.
